Design Process

For full service design; after our initial call, we'll arrange a paid on-site or virtual consultation based on your location and preference. During this meeting, we'll gather details about your lifestyle, needs, style, and goals to provide tailored service, and explain our approach to design, contractor collaboration, product management, and project communication. We'll also assess the project scope, timeline, budget, and feasibility.

Following the consultation, we'll prepare a Scope of Work Proposal outlining design goals, fees, payment terms, timeline, and conditions. Once approved, an advance on the design fee is required to begin. This proposal is separate from the Conceptual Design Plan.

During the site measure phase, we document existing conditions, review hired tradespeople, and gather essential details. The Conceptual Design Stage follows, where we source materials, fixtures, and furnishings, collaborate with trades for quotes, and provide an initial budget.

Before the Conceptual Presentation, the remaining design fee balance is due. We present the layout, investment estimate, and aesthetic direction, offering one round of revisions if needed.

In the Detailed Design Phase, we procure all furnishings, fabrics, and finishes, providing comprehensive quotes, proposals, and 3D models. At the Detailed Design Presentation, we present finalized plans, including floor plans, renderings, samples, and a budget breakdown, with one round of revisions.

The Final Presentation includes detailed drawings for tradespeople, a full budget, and a Furnishings Agreement, requiring 100% of the furnishings budget to proceed with orders.

During Construction Oversight & Product Management, we work closely with your contractors to ensure our plans are executed as specified, making site visits as needed for in-person clients.

What’s With the Name?

We often get asked about our name. People sometimes mix it up with “Blue Pine,” but the story behind it goes a little deeper. “Pine” reflects the longing, the constant yearning for something more—like the way we and our clients often find ourselves pining for blue skies. Whether it's the thrill of flight or creating airy, uplifting spaces, we design for those who dream of soaring higher, embracing that endless horizon. Pine Blue is where interior design meets the freedom of the sky.
